Accessibility Services

Accessibility Services is here to partner with you throughout your Caltech experience. We work with students to provide accommodations, remove barriers, and create an environment where you can fully participate in academics and campus life. Our goal is to ensure that every student has the tools and support needed to thrive.

Accommodation Request Timeline
Once you've submitted the Accessibility Services Registration Form and all required documentation, please allow up to 30 days for review. Incomplete or insufficient documentation may delay the process.

Requests related to injuries or sudden onset conditions are prioritized. In some cases—such as when a condition is physically visible—medical documentation may not be required, depending on the nature of the accommodation request.

Accommodation Process:

  1. Complete the Accessibility Services Registration Form in Accommodate
  2. Submit supporting documentation completed by a qualified licensed health care provider. You may have your provider complete the relevant documentation form(s) (see Documentation Forms section below), and/or provide a detailed evaluation or letter that discusses diagnoses, functional limitations, and recommendations for accommodations within the higher education setting.
  3. Request a meeting with Accessibility Services to facilitate the interactive process for evaluating reasonable accommodations.

Following the intake appointment, students will be notified by our team in writing about any accommodation decisions. If an accommodation request is denied, students will be provided with information about appealing the decision through the grievance process.
